A Life-Changing Experience
Traveling to Ghana on my first mission trip was a powerful and unforgettable experience. I went with my son Geoff, my best friend Inez, and Sisters in the Spirit. One of the most moving moments was visiting Elmina Castle, where enslaved Africans were once held before the transatlantic slave trade. Standing there, I felt the weight of our history and the resilience of those who came before us.
Another highlight was serving at a local school, where the children’s joy and love for learning were truly inspiring. We also visited a women’s shelter, donating feminine products and food—an experience that reminded me of the power of compassion. Beyond these moments, simply being in Ghana—immersed in its vibrant culture, markets, food, and people—was unforgettable. The spirit of Ghana left a lasting imprint on my heart.

While traveling in Southeast Asia, I had the rare chance to try Luwak coffee—one of the world’s most unique and exclusive brews. Made from beans eaten and digested by the Asian palm civet, the process naturally ferments the coffee, resulting in a smooth, earthy flavor with low acidity. It was fascinating to see how nature and tradition combine to create such a refined experience.

A Spiritual Awakening
Bali, Indonesia was nothing short of magical. One of the most exhilarating moments was riding the famous Bali Swing, soaring high above the lush jungle with breathtaking views all around me—it felt like pure freedom. I also visited a serene waterfall, where heart shapes are beautifully carved into the stone, and nearby swans stood together forming a heart. Both places radiated peace and love.
Surrounded by nature’s beauty and the gentle roar of cascading water, I experienced a deep spiritual awakening—a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect with myself. Bali touches your soul with its natural beauty, sacred energy, and the kindness of its people. It’s not just a destination that captures your eyes—it transforms your spirit.

Visiting the Tirta Empul Water Temple in Bali was a sacred and unforgettable experience. Taking part in the spiritual purification ritual at the seven fountains, each symbolizing a step of cleansing, offered a powerful moment of reflection and release. I left feeling renewed, grounded, and deeply connected to a greater sense of peace and purpose.
